Farhan takes Punjabi lessons from Gulzar!

Filmmaker-turned-actor Farhan Akhtar is playing the title role in Rakesh Omprakash Mehra's 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag', for which he needs to speak chaste Punjabi. To master the language, he is taking lessons from lyricist Gulzar.

The film is based on legendary athlete Milkha Singh's life and according to a source, the script demands Farhan's character to speak with an authentic Punjabi accent.

'In the film, Farhan needs to have the right Punjabi accent and he wants to make sure that he does it perfectly. Gulzar hails from Punjab, so Farhan decided to learn the language from him. Rakyesh Mehra is very impressed with Farhan's determination to learn the language,' included the source.

The spokesperson for the film told, 'Farhan Akhtar is going through extensive training. He will be multilingual at the end of his project.'

Padma Shri winner Milkha Singh, also known as Flying Sikh, created a 400 meters record at the 1958 Asian Games, won the event at the Commonwealth Games the same year and ran in the 400 meters final in the 1960 Olympics.

Earlier, Farhan was taking Urdu lessons from his poet father Javed Akhtar. This is his first film for an outside production house.

No plans of selling 'Angaar' remake rights: filmmaker Shashilal Nair

Missing from Bollywood action for nearly 10 years, filmmaker Shashilal Nair, who last made the rather unconvinced 'Ek Chotisi Love Story' in 2002 before he left the country, is taken aback by recent media reports that one of his best-known movies, 'Angaar', is being bought for remake rights.

Settled in London for nearly a decade, Nair was tracked down from his self-imposed hiding to state that he has no plans of selling 'Angaar' or any of his movies for a remake.

'I happen to be the film's co-producer and I've no knowledge of any such plans of transaction. A software company Endemol was keen to remake 'Angaar' and was chasing my office in Mumbai. But I am not too kicked by the idea of handing over the remake rights to anyone who asks for it,' Nair told.

Nair, who is currently studying five-dimensional filmmaking in London, says he is in no mood to remake any of his movies. 'For some years now I've been busy researching and studying five-dimensional filmmaking. I'll be back in Mumbai to make another film,' he told.

Shashilal Nair was at one time best friends with Jackie Shroff, with whom he made his best movies ('Falak', 'Angaar', 'Grahan', and ‘One 2 Ka 4'). The last film that Nair attempted to make in Mumbai was a new-age adaptation of Nabokov's 'Lolita', which suffered when Ram Gopal Varma made 'Nishabd', based on the same subject of a much older man falling in love with a girl old enough to be his daughter.

Jackie apparently was unhappy and uncomfortable with the steamy scenes that he was forced to do for Nair's 'Lolita'. This strained their friendship. Nair was also very close to Manisha Koirala. They fell out over her steamy scenes in 'Ek Chotisi Love Story'. Friendless in Bollywood, Nair soon fled the country.

He lives in London with his family.

'But I'll be back soon. I am in and out of Mumbai anyway. As for 'Angaar', please leave it alone,' he told.

'Rockstar' title can go against movie: Ranbir Kapoor

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor tells the title of his upcoming film 'Rockstar' may suggest that it is a story of a grungy young boy, but this isn't so.

'The title 'Rockstar' can sometimes go against us because when people hear Rockstar, they feel the film will have this guy who will wear a leather jacket, will break the guitar, will create a mess on the stage. Actually the film is about a character, a Jat boy, and whatever happens in his life, he tells the world about it through his songs,' Ranbir told journalists.

The actor has strummed the guitar, indulged in head banging, and rocked the stage for the movie, set for release Nov 11. In the movie, Ranbir plays the role of Janardhan or Jordan, an aspiring singer, who goes on to be a popular rockstar.

Ranbir went out of his way to learn how to play the guitar for the film.

'I had no idea how to play the guitar and neither can I sing. But since the character was that of a musician, I felt it was important to learn how to play the guitar because when I would perform on the stage before a large audiences, they would feel truth behind it,' he said.

'Rockstar', directed by Imtiaz Ali, marks the debut of model Nargis Fakhri.

Who is Prateik Babbar's girl in 'Issaq'?

The hunt for actor Prateik Babbar's love interest in his new film 'Issaq' is over but the producers have decided to keep the identity of the girl under wraps.

They believe that the chemistry between the girl and Prateik is the USP of the film and it should not fizzle out soon as the film is still under production.

'Since the film is an adaptation of 'Romeo and Juliet', the chemistry between the two is very important. After a lot of search we have found the right girl,' said director Manish Tiwary.

'We were looking for somebody who is very young and innocent and at the same time can carry off the rustic look of a Banarasi girl. As of now all I can say is I am very happy with Bachchi (her character's name in the film) and she certainly looks very good with Prateik who has a lean look in the film,' Tiwary added.

The film, produced by Shailesh Singh and Dhaval Gada, is being shot in Banaras in Uttar Pradesh and is slated to release early next year.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali ambitious project ‘Bajirao Mastani’, all this while was being penned down keeping Salman Khan as Bajirao, in mind. But, after a long wait and with no response from the actor, Sanjay has now decided to rope in Salman’s competitor Shahrukh Khan.

Well, this is not the first time that such a thing is happening to this movie. Previously in 2003, the movie was announced with Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai. However, once the couple split, Bhansali had decided to rope in Kareena Kapoor, in the year 2005. But that didn’t work out too.

A close source discloses, “After things couldn’t work out with Salman Khan, Sanjay was disheartened and didn’t know who he should approach for the role. Since it’s a big budget film, only a star can pull it off. A friend of Sanjay suggested he consider SRK.

He was quite kicked with the idea and immediately called up King Khan and offered him the role. The actor who is aware of the film and liked the subject asked him to give him a proper narration.”

He tweets, “just heard a 150 Cr firework fizzle. The superhero in Ra One has all the powers in the world but to entertain (sic).”

Shirish not only poked SRK but Aamir Khan too. He tweeted, “Aamir re-shoots reality show. Is it looking more real now (sic)?”

But the director did not dare take a chance with Salman Khan. He posted about Salman saying, “Bodyguard is trending. Everything else is pending (sic).”

Sonakshi Sinha has time an again denied Ranveer Singh. However, when questioned if she would mind dating the actor, her answer was less categorical.

In a recent interview, Sonakshi, was asked if reports about her being linked to Ranveer, were true.

“Not true. Because I have met him only at award functions and I did just one photo shoot with him. So how does even a story of romance come up?”

Asked if she was interested in dating him, the actress once again replied NO, but did not just end it there.
She added, “As of now, no! I am very content with my work and I have no time for men,” she said.

Well Sonakshi, to date someone, you need to spend more time with him… We guess, when she start starts shooting for Vikramaditya Motwane’s Next, which has Ranveer opposite her, things may work out for the two.

Kareena’s wax at the Madame Tussauds museum in Blackpool, Britain!

On Thursday, modern Bollywood queen, Kareena Kapoor unveiled her wax statue at the Madame Tussauds museum in Blackpool, Britain.

Kareena said, “It is an honour and a privilege for me to have my own wax figure at Madame Tussauds Blackpool and even more so to launch a global Bollywood exhibition. This is a moment of pride for the Indian cinema.”

The statue which took four whole months for its completion, costs 150,000 pounds.

“The figure looks incredible and is so life-like. I had to do a double take when I saw myself – they have really done a superb job at capturing my essence,” she included.

Now, Kareena will stand among Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, in Tussauds’.

Prakash Raj will revive the demand of main antagonist in bollywood!

Looks like, Dr Dang, Mogambo and Gabbar Singh’s place has been taken over by Prakash Raj. He was seen essaying the role of a baddie in Salman Khan’s ‘Wanted’ and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Singham’. Raj has also won numerous awards including a national award for his extra ordinary contribution to Tollywood.

Being the most sought after antagonist in Bollywood currently, the actor is all set to essay the negative role in Sunny Deol’s next film ‘Ghayal Returns’. The film goes on floors next month.

A source reveals, “Sonu Sood was being considered for the role. Manoj Bajpai was also in the running. But the filmmakers, Metro Movies, finalised Prakash Raj. He signed on for the project last week. His performance in Singham won him the role.”

“The film is based in Uttar Pradesh. A major portion of the film will be shot in northern India and Prakash has already given dates for the same next month. He plays a comic villain in the film,” included the source.

The producer of the film, Chirag, son of Mahendra Dhariwal, has verified the news too. “We had considered Sonu and Manoj for this role but with the kind of script we have, Prakash was a perfect fit.”

The movie also stars Mithun Chakraborty, Arshad Warsi and Tushar Kapoor in pivotal roles. Sunny plays a double role in the film. The movie is directed by will be directed by director Neeraj Pathak.

Ra.One’s report on Box office!

This years Diwali saw Shah Rukh Khan’s dream project, Ra.One release and while some critics termed the move as mere video game, most critics gave it a thumbs up. The sci-fic managed to collect Rs.18 crore at the home box office on the opening day.

However, the film couldn’t exceed or rather say equal the first day collection records of Salman Khan starrer “Bodyguard”, which opened at a huge sum of Rs.22 crore

The overseas market saw the Red Chillies Entertainment and Eros International co-production a collection of Rs.6.5 crore.

Ra.One, the 150 crore film, is directed by Anubhav Sinha. The film also has Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal essaying the roles of the lead heroine and the antagonist, respectively. The film released in 3,500 screens across the world.

Last week, it was Aishwarya’s godh bharai at her sasural and this week, it’s at her maika, in Bandra. This baby shower was a little special from that which took place at Jalsa, as the ceremony was attended by men also.

The original action superstar Akshay Kumar is back with a bang. Catch the first look of his forthcoming film Rowdy Rathore. From the poster, we are guessing that the film might be full on dhom-thad-thad-thad.

After a string of comedy films going flop at the box office, Khiladi Kumar has really needed the one action film to bring things back on track.

What’s interesting about the poster is that it is totally handmade. The producer of the movie and UTV pictures brought in painters to paint the poster. Rowdy Rathore’s poster brings back the 80s’ era.

Directed by Prabu Deva, Rowdy Rathore stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. The film is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala. It is a remake of the Telugu film Vikramarkudu.

Sayali Bhagat’s sexual harassment complaint against Shiney Ahuja!

Again, Shiny lands himself in hot soup. The actor has been written off from Bollywood, ever since he was involved in a rape case. Now, the newest accusation he faces is of sexual harassment from actress Sayali Bhagat.

A forthcoming horror film Ghost has Sayali acting opposite Shiney Ahuja. The actress freshly disclosed that during the shooting of the film, Shiney used to make indecent passes at her. Buzz also has it that Shiney even pinched her butt. However, Sayali denies it.

“During an intimate scene, he (Shiney) took me to the makeup room and made me hold his hands and look into his eyes and feel the ‘warmth’. I chose to ignore,” Sayali Bhagat tells in an interview.

It also happened that during a scene where Sayali teaches him to chop vegetables, Shiney forced her to feel up his arms n number of times. Not just Sayali but the light-man too got frustrated and walked out. Even between shots, Shiny used to whisper in Sayali’s ear that they should hook up.

Sayali is now looking forward to file a police complaint against Shiney.
